Wills, probate and estate administration

We understand that dealing with these matters can be emotional and complex. Whether you want to simplify things during your lifetime to help your family after your death, or have just lost a loved one and need guidance on the next steps, our Private Client Department is here to help.

Contentious wills and probate

Sadly, there is always a risk of a dispute arising when a person dies, whether or not they made a will. Our Private Client Department aims to deal with disputes in a compassionate and professional manner during these distressing times.

Lasting Powers of Attorney

We understand the importance of putting Lasting Powers of Attorney in place. Considering the possibility of losing capacity through ill health, injury or old age is difficult, but we are happy to help you put the right legal documents in place, so that you have the ultimate say over the powers given and the people appointed to make decisions for you if you unexpectedly lose capacity.

Court of Protection

We can also help with applications to the Court of Protection, such as for a Deputyship Order, if a loved one has lost capacity to deal with their own affairs and it is no longer possible to register Lasting Powers of Attorney.

Costs

At the initial consultation we will discuss how we may be able to help, whether by providing fixed fee services, dealing with particular aspects of your case, or giving you a seamless beginning to end service charged at an hourly rate. We will always keep you informed about costs and work together to deliver our services within your budget.
